Lochhead, Andy Remember Andy playing for Leicester ...tough as they come ..and helped us reach the 1969 cup final.
I think it was Brian Little who said that his idea of what a centre forward should be was made up for him the first day he arrived at Aston Villa as a youth and he saw Andy play.

Lochhead, Andy For my sins, lifelong supporter of Latics.
1st memory
Burnley 6 MU 1
Christmas 1963
AL got 4 Willie Morgan 2
Jump to
November 71. Old Div 3
Latics 0 Villa 6
Never seen a CH bullied so much by a CF as was Dick Mulvaney that day.
Think AL got a hattrick.
2 seasons later Jimmy Frizzell had brought him in to lead Latics promotion charge.
The next season 74-5 was our first season up and in April Villa were on their way up behind MU.
AL had finished playing by then and was coaching but at the April fixture away at Villa Andy walked up the touchline and as Villa fans have said the whole ground stood up roaring their appreciation of Andy as he walked along the touchline.
Not much help though!
Result was Villa 5 Latics 0!
They went up and we stayed up so all was well in the end.

Lochhead, Andy I first met Andy when he was the first team coach at Oldham Athletic AFC. I was the team coach driver and had some great times with Andy.
When Andy finished his footballing career he went into the licensing trade in the Burnley Lancashire area both myself and my wife kept in touch with Andy and his wife Carol and visited the club they managed in Burnley quite regularly. By this time I too had left Oldham Athletic and had started a plumbing company (New Earth Water Services). Andy approached me on one of my visits to his club and asked if I could find him a position in my company. At the time, I had just set up a promotion side to the company and had just employed another ex-professional footballer (Vic Hallom ex Sunderland and Oldham). Andy joined New Earth Water Services on the promotion side and did a very good job for us. It was when I sold the company and retired that I lost touch with Andy and Carol and would very much like to hear from them again. Jim & Margaret Wibberley

Lochhead, Andy Think it was Andy playing for Villa in the old third division. We had Jim Combes in goal, he belted it forward Andy basically redirected it into the Shrewsbury net. Talk about one touch football. Happy days. Thing I enjoyed, when you look back, genuine players like Andy gave 110%. I am well in my 70s so the memory is not so clear.
Just thought Andy nick name” Bald Eagle “, no offence meant. Just happy memories.

Lochhead, Andy I stood in the holt end when Andy Lochhead powered a header past pat jennings from just off the penalty spot it was harder than some players could kick the ball. It just flew in. He was not the tallest of men but he could jump.

Lochhead, Andy Me & my friends met Andy Lockhead's daughter Nichola,in Tenerife in 1986 when we got back to the UK we went the his pub in Worsethorne just outside Burnley, I think it was called the bay horse inn? He was very nice he gave us free drinks, & I took him some old news paper cutting from the Birmingham Mail that I had of him,not bad considering we were Birmingham city fans

Lochhead, Andy I can remember Andy scoring, I think two headed goals against Manchester United, both at the Stretford End. I have never heard the ball being headed so hard. It looked like United were heading for a rare home defeat, until a very late goal from Paddy Crerand earned us a valuable point.

Lochhead, Andy My first time at Anfield as a kid;I got in at 3/4 time against Burnley when the gate's opened.( I got into the Kop ). My first memory of getting into Anfield was The very vivid colours of the pitch'and kits. And Also : ANDY LOCHHEAD attacking The kop end goal.(my first memory) I have been a regular at Anfield since. But Andy was my first memory..

Lochhead, Andy Fab memories of Andy playing for Villa, especially when he finally got his first goal after weeks of trying!

Lochhead, Andy I don't suppose Andy will remember me , I went to Clydebank High School , same class as Andy and played in the same school team. Even then the was scoring goals for fun. I can go back further when he played for Whitecrook Primary School and they won the league.
