Biography: Gordon is acknowledged as one of the World's greatest ever keepers, whose playing career was ended prematurely following a car accident in 1972, but he will be remembered as one of the England World Cup winners in 1966. Spent two years in America, where despite having lost one eye, was voted best goalkeeper in the NASL. After a spell managing Telford Gordon went into commerce. Became self-employed in the sports promotion business, when the corporate entertainments company he worked for went bust. (Played in five domestic cup finals losing Twice in the FA Cup but had better luck in the League Cup winning two and losing another.)
