Dempsey, John JOHN LIVED in the Camberley area and I used to deliver his newspapers. He was so approachable and a fantastic tipper at Christmas. A wonderful player and a gentleman. You don't forget things like that. A memory chrished.

Dempsey, John I had the pleasure of playing with John at secondary school (Kynaston technical high) in St. John’s Wood, not the school team but the house team. In those days John was head and shoulders above the rest of the team in ability and fitness. He was also a very good cricketer. We were very jealous. He often got to miss lessons because he was training with Middlesex colts, Lords cricket ground was less than 1K away. Some years after leaving school, I actually paid to watch John when he was playing for the Chelsea team that was full of superstars, Osgood, Hollins, Bonetti,
Cooke, etc. Happy days.

Dempsey, John I was a player at Maidenhead Utd around ‘83-‘84 when JD was manager. I was the U18’s goalkeeper and occasional reserve player. I now live in Perth, Western Australia and I’m the secretary of the Chelsea Supporters Club here. I just wish I had spoken to JD more about Chelsea when I was there.
I hope he’s doing ok. KTBFFH

Dempsey, John I remember John well. I used to go to Chelsea school just on the other side of the bridge. i must have been 14 years old. i was waiting outside the main gates for autographs during my lunch break. Gary Locke came out in a mini. i asked him any more players in there? he replied yes Max is in there. i said who is Max? he replied john Dempsey. He said when he comes out call him Max. i did call him Max and he kicked me straight in the shin lol. i didn't know at the time it referred to Max Wall. All the best John.

Dempsey, John I met John when he played for the Philadelphia Fury. He, David Robb, Frannie O'Brien, and Coach Valok would come to our home frequently. They'd play football with our kids in our garden. Great people! I'd love to get back in touch with him.
