Eadie, Douglas Just came across this page. I had just found a very old photograph of myself at 3, with I think Douglas's sister, Anne Eadie (so around 1953). So I thought I would see if he appeared anywhere on the internet. We were next door neighbours until 1959, when we moved away from Crofthill Road. He would have been 4 years older than me, and what I remember was how much respect we other children had for him. He was always thoughtful and fair (kids argue), and was a really nice person, so much that I still remember him. Yes, even then, he was mad keen on football, and I am really pleased he got to play professionally. I had no idea he also acted (4 films I see on IMDB). Curiously, I worked near Upton Park, though long after he would have been there, between 1984 and 2000.
I am sorry that he died relatively young, but pleased to see him well remembered.

Eadie, Douglas, I was Doug's wife for over 23 years We had two boys together now men in their 40's and each of the have two sons and are happily married. Sadly Doug and I divorced after all that time, I expect I was too young at 19. We travelled the world with his football career and he also was a talented actor. He truly was my one and only true love and I was devastated when we split. I always kept in touch and he was a great father all four of us were together when he died. I now am able to forget bad times and have many good times. Yes he was very handsome right to the end and he loved football.

Eadie, Douglas, Douglas was my first serious boyfriend. I was the envy of all my school friends because he was so good looking. I'm so sad to hear of his death. I've never forgotten him. You don't do you? Your first.

Eadie, Douglas, Douglas was manager of my school football team (Croftfoot PS.) He was my hero at that time , and really new how to get the best out of me . There are certain people that come along in your life and inspire you , he was certainly one of these people. He made me believe in my ability. I never really went on to fulfil my potential as a footballer, but will never forget how much he influenced me, all in the space of twelve months! The very fact that I'm on this website, speaks for itself. I'm so saddened to hear that he's no longer with us. Hopefully we can meet again and talk football.

Eadie, Douglas, I saw Doug play against Spurs and was impressed with how he coped with Dave Mackay who hit him with some hard tackles but he never shied away. I am trying to obtain a signature for my Hammers collection , if anyone has one I am willing to pay a decent price.
