Biography: A former A.B.A. heavyweight boxer and elder brother of John, he started his professional career with Norwich City and after shooting to fame with some spectacular goals, Brian Clough took him to Nottingham Forest in a one million pound deal. However his stay was brief and despite repeated comebacks from injury with a variety of clubs both here and abroad, he never recaptured the form that brought him to prominence. He then had spells in Canada and Scotland and media interest in his colourful private life meant that he is probably better known for his off the field activities which allegedly have included a rather unlikely liaison with TV actress, Julie Goodyear - Coronation Street's barmaid Bet Lynch. He commited suicide in May 1998 at the age of 38.

FASHANU, Justin While playing for a Saturday afternoon team (Sporting Hackney) a few of us adjourned to a pub near Victoria Park after a game. JF was in there and played pool with us for an hour or so. He seemed a very nice lad and was keen to chat and join in. So sad the way his life panned out.
