He won a contract and went on a tour of Argentina with Chelsea in 1927 (had a watch presented to him to celebrate this). Only played once for Chelsea but moved to QPR in 1930. Do not know his history at QPR. retired and worked for post office and played football in Southern League (for post office). In WW Two served at el Alamein in Royal Signals Corp (wounded in knee). Died in 1980 as I recall. I carried his coffin. My son is his great grandson. He was a good and unassuming man!!
