Biography: A striker he played in the Football League between 1957-66. In total he made 301 appearances for his two clubs scoring 66 goals. When he joined Hartlepool in 1963 it was for a club record fee of £10000. In 1964 he became the first Hartlepool United player to make an international appearance when he won the last of his 11 caps for the Republic Of Ireland. He became player manager at Cork Hibernians then Cork Celtic. He went on to manage another three Irish teams before managing Athlone Town for nearly 20 years. He later retired to Wearside. He died on 4th January 2016 in Limerick aged 82.
