Biography: After retiring Walter went on to manage Accrington Stanley, Bradford Park Avenue, New Brighton, Tranmere Rovers, Hibernian, Stockport County and Berwick Rangers. He died in 1995.

GALBRAITH, Walter The finest Stanley Manager ever. I am sure he would be delighted that Accy Stanley are going up to League One and all this after the pain and nightmare of 1962. As a Burnley fan who loves our neighbours, dearly, long live Accy Stanley.
