Greenhoff, Jimmy We watched Jimmy playing for Stoke City for nearly 7 years and he was a fantastic footballer. Why he never played for England we never could understood that. It was a sad day Stoke City had to sell him to Man Utd because the wind blew off one of the stands and we had no money to repair it ! A lovely person as well.

Greenhoff, Jimmy Great player at Birmingham City . Pity he was far to fast for the rest of the team. Good luck Jimmy

GREENHOFF, Jimmy In the summer of '77, I took my six-month-old son, resplendent in a red and white Babygro, to The Cliff where pre-season training had started. Jimmy was injured and on crutches. I asked him if I could take a Polaroid photo of him holding my little boy who was crying. Jimmy immediately put aside his crutches and obliged. I really appreciated that. I think my son did, too, as he stopped crying! Forty years later I was delighted to see Jimmy at the annual dinner of the Association of Former Manchester United Players at Old Trafford and had the opportunity to thank him again and be photographed with him. Jimmy has had more than his fair share of misfortune since he left United but he remains a true gentleman, as well as being one of the finest players never to play for the full English team. He was truly a gem.

GREENHOFF, Jimmy I think Jimmy's first games for Blues was against PNE which I went to at DEEPDALE. We lost 4-1 but still great. Best uncapped England player by far.
