Born: 1947

Birthplace: Dalmuir, Scotland

Position: Goalkeeper

Biography: A Scottish under-23 international who arrived from Clydebank. As understudy to Peter Bonetti, he found first team opportunities few and far between and was forced to leave Stamford Bridge to seek regular football. Suffered a broken leg and John Phillips was signed from Aston Villa and when he recovered he was sold to Villa for £12,500 to replace his replacement. Had a short spell as Hereford boss but settled in the town where he owns a carpet cleaning business.

Hughes, Tommy We played for Clydebank Athletic and he was my best friend. Visited him once back in the 90s but never heard from him again. Hope to hear from him again.

Hughes, Tommy Always remember watching Tommy Hughes playing for Chelsea on MOTD when they lost 0-5 at home to Leeds in 1969. Of course Chelsea went on to beat Leeds in the FA Cup Final.

Hughes , Tommy He used to play in goal for us kids in a cul de sac called buckingham gardens in thornton heath great memories :)
