Biography: Kennedy became player-manager of Grimsby Town in 1969, he hung up his playing boots soon after but continued as manager until 1971. He then moved to Bradford City, where he became youth team manager and a coach before joining Dundalk in the same role. He returned to Bradford as manager in 1975 and remained with the club until 1978. He then briefly worked as a coach for Blackburn Rovers before retiring from football completely and moving home to Scotland.

Bobby Kennedy Bobby was a good friend of my dad. He lived 10m inutes walk from our house in north Motherwell. He was a long shot expert with a brain, strong in stature and should have had Scotland caps but in those days if you didn't play for Celtic or Rangers you had no chance. He was at my wedding with his lovely wife Barbara. I shared a night at Grimsby with his dad and was very well looked after He was transferred from Kilmarnock for 35 thousand, just about when Ian St-John was transferred from Motherwell to Liverpool for 55 thousand He was a lovely man and came from a nice family and he and Barbara had a nice family. Thanks Bobby you know I will never forget you and Barbara.

Kennedy, Bobby On receiving the ball near to the halfway line, for some strange reason the crowd shouted 'Shoot!' so he let fly a screamer from 40 yards or more that nearly burst the net. Can't remember the opposition but I think we scored a few that day. Magic moment.
