Mortimore, Charlie I was an avid fan of Aldershot Town from the age of 6 (and still am). I remember well Charlie's days with the Shots and can still recall waiting by the radio for the away results on Saturdays.
The one that stands out is Leyton Orient 2 Aldershot 7! (Charlie scored 5). For me it was more exciting than Christmas.

Charlie Mortimer So sad to hear of Charlie Mortimer's passing.
Charlie was my football inspiration and coach at Cove School from 1973 to 1978.
I always remember Charlie saying to me before a Cup Match, "I want to see you letting their No. 9 know you are there, so in the first 3 to 5 mins of the game get your studs down the back of his shins, hit him hard but fairly he will always then be wary and not play his natural game".
Inspirational.... Charlie was right..... It worked and made me a better and more complete player.
RIP Charlie..... A football legend ⚽⚽

Mortimore, Charlie I knew Charlie through his brother (whose name, John? ) while training as a teacher at Shoreditch College in Egham. This was 1954/6. His brother was also a useful footballer and I think he played with me in the college’s first team. Am I correct thinking this? I am currently writing my memoirs and would like to be sure.

Mortimore, Charlie Charlie Mortimer was my form master in class 3A at Cove Secondary School (as it was then called) during school year Sep 64 to July 65, as well as school games-master. I always considered him a very 'fair' teacher and person and am sad to hear of his passing.

Mortimore, Charlie Charlie was not only my Deputy Head at Cove School for a long time but he was always encouraging and supportive in everything I did. He was also a good friend to myself and Linda. We missed him when moving to Lincolnshire. But managed to have lunch with him and a couple of other friends before he became ill. He was the Quintessential gentleman and has never and will never be forgotten. Such an inspirational man.

Mortimore, Charlie Not only was Charlie a football legend, he was also a kind, caring and very capable schoolteacher who guided countless young persons, including myself, through difficult circumstances by encouraging sporting participation and academic ambition. Such persons are extremely rare and I for one had my life shaped by him. Thanks Charlie.

Mortimore, Charlie Charlie is currently living in a Nursing home in Farnborough, where he is doing well. He likes nothing more than to reminisce about his playing days and coaching youngsters after he finished playing. I am his nephew, my late father Doug, was his elder brother.

MORTIMORE, Charlie I was at Cove when Charlie was deputy head. I also did gymnastics with John's daughter Alison before John moved abroad. I always wondered what happened to Alison ?
