He won five full caps for Scotland between 1985-88 scoring one goal. After his playing career finished in 1995 he did a bit of coaching. After this things spiralled downwards in a drug fuelled cycle of crime, scandal and reckless misbehaviour. He ended up penniless, unemployed and living in Gateshead. Thankfully he managed to alter some things in his lifestyle getting married for the second time in 2001. However the marriage ended in 2013 when he decided to return to his birthplace Glasgow.
