McGIVEN, Mick I remember Mick playing so brilliantly for struggling West Ham in the 1970’s that he kept Bobby Moore out of the team. Bobby was fit after injury and could not be recalled. Twenty years ago I bumped into Mick at England training at Bisham Abbey. He was observing Terry Venables methods. I reminded him of the way he kept Moore out. He was very modest, smiled and nodded.

McGiven, Mick I played for Mick's Father as a youngster. Mick was on the books at Sunderland. A big bruising no compromising Centre-half . He played up front when we were short one day. He scored 4 or 5 against a top team, without breaking sweat They just couldn't get near him. The difference in class was enormous.
