Biography: One of the classiest players to have graced the League during the seventies. McKenzie became the club's first major signing for four years when severe financial problems had restricted transfer expenditure. He was brought in in the hope of finding a much-needed cutting edge, but he never looked at home playing in a side with limited ability. Accordingly, he struggled to produce his best form and after only seven months in the capital was sold to Blackburn Rovers for less than half of the £165,000 originally paid out to Everton. Now working for Football in the Community based at Everton. Lives in Newton-le-Willow, Merseyside, owned a delicatessen, and has become an accomplished after dinner speaker and newspaper columnist.
