Peter Reid

Birthplace: Huyton, Lancashire

Position: Defensive midfielder

Biography: Midfielder born on Merseyside with 13 England caps, with 500 league appearances under his belt when he joined Southampton in 1993 he had also been player manager of Manchester City. He played just eight games in a difficult season for Saints bringing some stability to the side and also bringing the best out of Matt LeTissier. But following the sacking of manager Ian Branfoot, Reid decided to also move on, even though he was strongly linked with the managers position, he continued to play on for another eighteen months before returning to management at Sunderland, he has since managed several English clubs and the Thai national side, along with regular appearances as a pundit for Sky and the BBC. Most recently in 2010 -2011 he managed Plymouth Argyle as they fought a losing battle against relegation from League One and administration.
