Tim Sherwood

Tim Sherwood

Clubs played for: Watford, Norwich City, Blackburn Rovers, Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth, Coventry City (1987-2005)

Born: 1969

Birthplace: Borehamwood

Position: Midfielder

Biography: Joined Pompey from Tottenham Hotspur but he had previously led Blackburn Rovers to the 1993/4 Premiership title. Winner of three England caps, he had fallen out with Glenn Hoddle at Spurs and agreed to a loan period at Fratton Park. This was turned into a permanent move and he helped the club win the First Division in his first season. A broken leg sustained during the 2002/3 campaign kept him out of the side and he was released along with Teddy Sheringham when his contract expired. After a few games with Coventry, Sherwood conceded that his career was at an end and agreed to become part of Harry Redknapp's backroom staff at Tottenham Hotspur in October 2008.
