Biography: A goalkeeper who played in the Football League between 1965-72. A small but brave and agile goalkeeper he joined Burnley in 1959 but due to the form of Adam Blacklaw he did not make his league debut until 1965 aged 24. Nicknamed 'God in a Green Jersey' by the Italian press in 1967 following his performance against Napoli he was a flamboyant character who got in to trouble with his managers at both Blackpool and Barrow. In 2004 he retired to Barrow and died of cancer in March 2013 aged 72.
