Wagstaff, Ken What a great player and character. I was there when he played his first game against Exeter in 64 and scored. Greatest memory amongst many was at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup quarter finals when Waggy scored 2 in the last 15 minutes to get a draw. A great team of the 60s and 70s showing how football should be played and enjoyed. I was very fortunate!

Wagstaff, Ken My absolute hero. Scored on his debut 3 days before his 22nd birthday. I remember rushing out to get the "Sportsmail reen" 21/11/64
HULL CITY 3 EXETER CITY 1. My dad and I must of read the report 3 or 4 times over that night, smiling like Cheshire Cats! I was instantly hooked. Waggy hit the ground running and scored an amazing 23 goals in the 25 games he played in that debut season. Remember being on Bunkers Hill when Waggy scored twice against the great Gordon Banks and who can forget him dragging us back from 2-0 down at Stamford bridge. Happy days!!

Wagstaff, Ken My uncle Archie took us to a Christmas game. I think it was against Millwall. 45000 crowd. Place was packed. We were near the south stand in the corner. I remember a wall falling down. Was anyone else there that day?

Wagstaff, Ken I supported the Tigers for many years and both Waggy and Chillo where our heroes. Imagine my delight when playing for our local veterans team the Waggy joined us and we had several seasons together and trips to Holland to play. Waggy still had that silky ability even at 60 and had a wonderful sense of humour. Great days.

Wagstaff, Ken Playing football at sec school, one of my tricks was to volley the tennis ball with the side of my foot brought up & through on the right side of my body without bringing the ball 'under control'. Waggy performed this striking trick many times in the mid 60's when I followed city as a student in hull.he was brill at wrong footing defenders - & scoring many outstanding goals.

Wagstaff, Ken My all time hero Waggy was brilliant the best I ever saw at Boothferry - my hero!

Wagstaff, Ken I used to stand on the terrace at Field Mill when Ken was playing for the Stags. I collected football autographs from an early age. I contacted Ken with the assistance of The Mansfield paper The Chad about 15 years ago he took the time to write me a personal letter and sent me 3 signed pictures from his Mansfield days . In todays era the players have in general no loyalty or time for the regular supporter. The players of yester year always had time for their supporters. Hope Ken is in good health and wishing him all the best for 2015.

WAGSTAFF, Ken Waggy - not just a great footballer but a great entertainer too. Always played with a cheeky grin and a smile on his face. The Stags answer to Lionel Messi!

WAGSTAFF, Ken I remember quite vividly, the 2 goals he scored against Stoke City in the FA Cup 6th round in 1971 at Boothferry Park. The great goal-keeper, Sir Gordon Banks could not do a thing to stop him. Legend and a Hero.
