Biography: A Northern Ireland international although he was born in Guernsey and a lifetime Pompey fan. Initially signed as a YTS apprentice he captained the youth team and and won Young Player of the Year. Signed pro terms in 1995 and went on play under six different managers. Sadly, a series of niggling injuries combined with changing managerial preferences, his first team chances were limited and ultimately resulted in a move to Oxford United in 2001. Now lives in Gosport and has started the Oakley Waterman Caravan Foundation, which provides an escape for parents whose children have been diagnosed with cancer. The charity is named after his own son Oakley who died from rhabdomysarcoma, a rare form of cancer, at the age of six. Dave's uncle's house is called 'Fratton End'
