Biography: Arrived at Stamford Bridge for £4.5 million after the then Parma boss Carlo Ancelotti decided that he was a 'square peg'. Went on to become Chelsea's greatest ever player, and even though his number 25 shirt has never officially been retired no player has worn it since he left the club. He was a true artiste, he could shoot and dribble, and scored the winner in the Cup Winners Cup Final. 'Franco' won a whole host of accolade's before ending his career in Italy. Became assistant to the Italian under- 21 team managed by his former Chelsea team-mate Pierluigi Casiraghi. Was appointed West Ham boss in September 2008, until he was sacked in June 2010.
