Bates, Mick I watched Mick play several times for Walsall, at Fellows Park. I think Dave Mackay brought him down from Leeds. He was a brilliant player for us, the only problem was that he was too good for our team and his visionary play was to advanced for the others in the squad. In the end they made Mick look poor. Still I loved watching Walsall at the time and Mick will always be a part of those memories.

Bates, Mick I had poster made at Hook Gala nr Goole saying Leeds Utd pay £350 000 for Darren Moore (our son). This was in 1973. Mick got all the great Leeds Utd squad to autograph it for me. Mick is a lovely bloke and was a talented player.

Bates, Mick As a youngster I will always remember asking Mike for his autograph at a reserve team match at St James Park. He not only signed my book but went inside the players entrance and came out with complimentary tickets for me and my mate. A really nice gesture

BATES, Mick Mick Bates got me a trial at Leeds in 1975 just after Jimmy Armfield took managers job.
