Currie, David Met him through a friend, Steve Young in a village in South Yorkshire called Maltby. Think Steve was related and acting as his agent when he signed for Forest. I think Clougie told him to get a hair cut. Came across as quiet, Currie not Clougie that is.

Currie, David Great player. Watched him score 2 goals on his debut against Ipswich. I have a Shaw Carpets too with his name and number on. An Oakwell hero of mine.

Currie, David My first memory of David were t-shirts for sale in town that said something like 'red hot currie and his shirt number on his back.

Sanders Transport Limited What's david currie up to these days? One of my first games ever was the stoke game where he back heeled the ball to cooper who scored and did the acrobatics. I thought we must be the best team in the world if we're doing stuff like that....I was about 8

Currie, David Remember being told David had joined Barnsley, I was 10 and thought whose this???? Saw him turn up to training in his Capri and thought he was so cool ( my words at age 10). Barnsley legend in my eyes.

Currie, David My dad is no longer a HGV driver :)

Currie, David In my bedroom I still have footballs given to me by Davy from Barnsley, Forest and Oldham. My dad knew him from in Thornaby. Really nice fella by all accounts. I met him a few times but was too young to remember.

Currie, David Does David live in Thornaby or Stockton now and what is he up to these days?

Currie, David My first game was against Chesterfield in late 1987. I was absolutely mesmerised by this great player. On the opposite end of the scale i also remember coming in one night and my brother telling me he'd left so i put the teletext on and burst into tears as i read (Alan) Clarke adds Currie to spice up his front line. Absolutely fantastic player, my first ever hero and one that will live on in my memory forever.

Currie, David Davy Currie. The most modest, genuine and down to earth guy anyone could wish to meet. I haven't seen Davy for many years but he is still my football hero and great friend. If ever you read this Davy, give me a call mate. You're a diamond guy. 078562811861. Kev (Old Jake)
