Alex Elder

Clubs played for: Burnley & Stoke City





Biography: A Left-back who played for Burnley between 1959-67. In his debut season he won the league championship with them & played for them in the 1962 F A Cup Final. He went on to play for Stoke City between 1967-73 although he had persistent knee problems during his time with them. He also won 40 caps for Northern Ireland. He now lives on the Costa Almeria in Spain.

Elder, Alex Alex recently introduced himself in Spain after seeing my grandsons wearing Burnley strips. Al my family were thrilled not only because we remembered him but by his friendly welcome of us. Come on you Clarets. Xxx

Elder, Alex Watched him down at Turf Moor in the 1960s and he was a very classy full back.
