Hector, Kevin Absolute genius ,zig zagging past defenders until he was ready to place the ball in the net …..he would beat a defender then rub their nose in the mud by beating them again to open up an easy goal …..an absolute magic talent that worked well with John O’Hare.a team player.

Hector, Kevin Kevin Hector played for my team Bradford Park Avenue and was the greatest player we ever had in the history of the club. I was at college in Manchester from 1965 to 1968 so I missed his last couple of years as an Avenue player. On 20/11/65 Avenue beat Barnsley 7-2 and Kevin scored 5 goals! I was in the T.V. room at my hall of residence watching Grandstand when the results were read out and the B.B.C. reported that Kevin Hunter had scored 5 goals! I was really angry that they got his name wrong but really thrilled that he had scored 5! When he was sold to Derby County in September 1966 it was the beginning of the end for Avenue as a football league club. No wonder he became a fans’ favourite at Derby. Why he only got two caps for England I will never understand. Thanks for the memories Kevin!

Hector, Kevin In the late 1960s I wanted a Derby Co shirt (#10) for Christmas because Kevin was my hero. I opened up my present on Christmas Day and found my Mum and Dad had bought me a #9 shirt because it cost extra to have two numbers on it!

Hector, Kevin I did the least I could do to show what I thought about Kevin Hector. I named my dog Kevin Hector Harrison. Although no longer with us he had his own Facebook page!

Hector, Kevin 7 September 1966 Hector signs for Derby County for £35,000. Was this the day Bradford Park Avenue died?

Hector, Kevin A true GOD for Derby fans.

Hector, Kevin As a 15 year old goalkeeper in the 60s playing on the local pitch at Middleton Leeds, Kevin used to sting my hands with his shots. I always thought he would be able to play professionally and so he did. Hope he is fit and well

Hector, Kevin I remember his testimonial. After the final whistle, I ran on with a massive banner that I had made in the garage. It said “King Zak is Magic!”
I laid it in the Normanton end goal. He went on to be my mums postman and was very friendly. Have bought him pints in the Red Cow. A legend!

Hector, Kevin I was named after the legend as my dad was a massive Brian Clough fan. Still support the Rams and what we would give for a striker half as good as King Kev.

Hector, Kevin He was superb at my team, Bradford Park Avenue.
Dad knew a 1st division club director and recommended that they looked at him. They said he would never make it. I have never totally trusted scouts to get it right, especially as I became one!

Hector, Kevin I first got interested in football when I watched the World Cup in 1966 aged 8. The following season 1966/67, my Dad started to take me to watch Bradford Park Avenue. They were doing quite well at the start of the season. My Dad kept on saying "Go on Kevin, go on Kevin" and sometimes he would say "go on Hector, well done Hector". I remember asking him, "Dad, which one's Kevin and which one's Hector?" Very soon into the season, Kevin left Avenue for Derby for a record fee. Avenue soon dropped into the bottom 4 and never recovered for 3 seasons until they were voted out of the league. In that time Derby were promoted and went on to become Champions.
Kevin Hector - simply a legend!!

Hector, Kevin I have seen my fair share of inside inside forwards in my long time here and the word great is truly way over used but in my humble opinion this lad was as close to that as you would get in his prime. A vastly underrated footballer, hence his insulting one and a bit caps. Im a wolves supporter and we had two good uns Doog & Richards but hector was special.

Kevin Hector Saw Kevin play 100's of times at the Baseball Ground. Old videos show that my memory serves me well - he was THAT GOOD! In this modern era Kevin would earn £millions each year and Derby would not be able to afford to keep him.

Hector, Kevin Loved watching Kevin Hector and the rest of the great teams at the Baseball Ground in the 60's/early 70's, including the great Clough era. Derby really buzzed then - great times - pre Corporate greed!
Thanks for the good times Kev, Roy McFarland, Dave Mackay, Alan Durban etc.

Hector, Kevin Kevin Hector was an absolute goal scoring legend. He was able skip over some hideous tackles made against him a superb number 10, His 2 caps for England are an absolute tragic waste of his talent. He also lived down the street from my parents and sponsored me a whole £1, for a walk i did. A massive amount back then.
