Terry Paine

Birthplace: Winchester

Position: Winger

Biography: Played a massive 816 games for Southampton between 1956 and 1973 during which time he was capped 19 times by England, and was part of the 1966 WorldCup squad. He signed as player/coach at Hereford in August 1974, also managed Cheltenham Town and a pub in the town. But has now been a football coach and TV soccer pundit in South Africa for many years, only interupted by a brief return to Coventry City

Paine, Terry Hi Terry you used to play football with my grandad Patrick Gregory and you knew my mum Julie and my aunt Elaine Gregory . My grandads brother was Jose and my great uncle was Bill ellerington who played many time for saints and a few caps for England. I work in a care home and I’m chatting and showing videos of you playing for the saints to a lively gentleman who is still an avid saints fan, Dennis harnett he remembers you well from you playing days
