Wainman, Harry I played in the same school team as Harry in Hull. I was a scrawny right winger and Harry was a big and free scoring centre forward. How he turned into a goal keeper is a mystery. They must have seen something in him at Grimsby. Several of that ainthorpe team went on to play top flight football. Sadly I wasn’t one of them!!!

WAINMAN, Harry My first ever football match was Oldham Athletic v Grimsby at Boundary Park, 28 Feb 1970. Apart from Latics losing 2-0, the other thing I remember is Harry Wainman was in goal for Grimsby! Don't know why! ????Ǩ
