Birthplace: Islington, London
Biography: A midfielder who Dave Sexton wanted to convert into a goal scoring right winger when he arrived at the club in a £100,000 deal from Millwall. At first it appeared to be working a treat, when he scored 12 goals in his first half a season, but then the goals dried up. He managed to pick up a Cup Winners' Cup winner's medal in 1971, but was sold after just 16 months following the arrival of Chris Garland and Steve Kember. Spent the next eight years at Leicester City, becoming one of their all time 'greats' and winning four England caps along the way. Ended his playing career in the States and went on to manage a number of clubs in Fort Lauderdale, Dallas, Houston and San Diego. Finally settled in Seattle where he drove an outside broadcast lorry for an American TV station before owning a coffee shop. He died in November 2004 after a long battle against cancer.
