Biography: Born in Rainhill, Lancashire on 30th September 1934. Was in demand as a youngster but chose to join Liverpool rather than Bolton or Everton. Went on to make over 350 appearances in red and win 5 England caps. Later coached both at home and in Zambia and New Zealand,. In later life he ran a tobacconists shop in Birkenhead. Died on 14th December 2009, he had been suffering from cancer.
