Biography: Father of former Manchester United goalkeeper, Gary, Roy won First Division championship medals in 1962 having won a second division medal 12 months earlier with Ipswich under Alf Ramsey. Emigrated to South Africa and died in Johannesburg in April 1993 at the age of 61

Bailey, Roy Roy was the celebrity MC at an inter-provincial tournament for under-9 or 10s (circa 1982) in South Africa. At the prize-giving, he held me aloft as the winning captain with trophy in hand, and I farted on him.
