Clive Clark

Birthplace: Leeds

Position: Winger

Biography: An attacking winger he played in the Football League between 1958-1973. Known as 'Chippy' he made 447 appearances in the Football League scoring 98 goals. He is best remembered for his time at West Bromwich Albion between 1960-69 where he played in two League Cup Finals and their 1968 F A Cup winning side. In total he made 351 appearances for them scoring 98 goals. In one season he scored 29 goals for them. After his Football League career finished he played non league football for Telford before playing in America. When he was in his fifties he suffered several family bereavements and his health suffered as a consequence. By the time he was 57 he was in a Nursing Home in Scarborough and remained in Nursing Homes until his death on 1st May 2014 aged 73.

Clark, Clive I played in the QPR youth side with Chippy. He was the best both on the pitch and off. My one clear memory was in the London 6 a side final from the kick off he said “I will pass the ball back to you and you pass the ball up the field to me and I will score. I did just that and Clive scored the first goal. I will never forget the look on both of our faces. He was a good mate and I will remember his friendship for ever. God bless you mate!! Ray

clive clark hi my name is steve jennings and my mothers name was renee jennings. I was born in 1957 and whilst i was growing up my mother told me she had a cousin called clive clark who played for west bromwich albion and i always never realy give it much thought, Her maiden name was webster and she passed away in 2006 and i often wonder if what she had told me was true. ps all my family are from leeds.
