Biography: Signed by Ian Porterfield as back up to Dmitri Kharine and Kevin Hitchcock. He needed several spells out on loan to see any action before making his only Chelsea appearance in a 3-2 defeat against West Ham United in March 1997. Was released on a free transfer by Gianluca Vialli. A Republic of Ireland international, Colgan has been playing for Grimsby Town since 2009 and suffered relegation to the Football Conference in 2010.
