Biography: Surrey lad Denyer had been training at Chelsea for two years before signing pro for Pompey. A reliable and popular midfielder, he was part of the team who gained promotion back to Division 2 in 1976. Played over 250 league games for the Blues and Northampton, who paid £20,000 for his services in 1979, before moving to Australia to play for and then coach Blacktown FC. Latterly has been Master in Charge of Football at The King’s School, Parramatta, Sydney and coach at local club Hills United. Denyer, Peter Hi Peter. Not sure if you remember me, we shared a room in Southsea in 1974 when we were both apprentices at Portsmouth. I have been in Australia since 1988, just learnt you live in Sydney.
