Ellis, Sam Sam and Ian Bolton stayed at my Nans b&b when they first arrived at Watford. They used to get me free tickets to the matches. One day Nan took the boys a cup of tea up to their room and discovered a non paying guest in a spare bed (Luther Blisset). Happy times. Hope youre both well

ELLIS, Sam Went to Audenshaw Grammar with Sam. Glad to see all his success.

Ellis, Sam I vividly remember an Owls v Liverpool game mid - 60's where a very young and novice Sam was marking the very experienced old pro, Ian St John. I was in the North Stand and St John was constantly talking to Sam as if to unsettle him. I shouted out "stop that", and was joined by quite a few other Owls' fans! Wednesday got a draw, eithe 0 - 0 or 1 - 1, so a creditable result AND performance.
