Biography: A Scotsman with one full international cap to his name, was lured south to play for Chelsea and Brentford before Tommy Docherty paid the Bees a bargain £55,000 in 1973 to help shore up a then leaky defence.Stewart gave reliable service at Left-back for over six years, he won a Second Division Champion medal in 1975 and then a FA Cup final loser's medal 12 months later. He missed out against Liverpool in 1977 with torn ankle ligaments and was never the same again, even though he spent another three years at the club. Has twice been caretaker manager of Arsenal and taken control of QPR, coached a number of other clubs and is now scouting for The Gunners.
