David Pegg

Biography: A pacey mobile winger who had made one full appearance for England, won two League Championship before his life was cut tragically short in Munich, which ironically came after he lost his place to Albert Scanlon but as a squad member, made the fateful trip to Belgrade. He was the left wing supplier of chances for Dennis Violet and Tommy Taylor. He played in successive FA Youth Cup winning teams. Dave was still only 22 at the time of the accident. He is buried in Redhouse Cemetery, near Doncaster where he was born.
