Biography: Born in Chorley in 1926. A goalie who spent nine years at Anfield after the war. He had been encouraged to get between the sticks by his mates as a tweleve year old - he was already 6ft tall at the time. Later played for Ipswich and Coventry before ending up back on his own doorstep, playing for Chorley. Also worked for the Royal Ordnance Factory in Euxton but passed away in March 2010 at the age of 83.
