John Bainbridge

Birthplace: Seaham

Position: Forward

Biography: Originally hailed from the north-east but played most of his League football ‘down ‘south’, including 25 games for Pompey. Later scored 4 goals in 6 games for Southampton in a run that saw them reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 1908. Returned to County Durham and his previous occupation as a coal miner. Died in 1960 at the age of 79.
