Biography: Played 350 games for Arsenal between 1929 and 1946, during which time he won 21 England caps. By the age of 21 had won League Championship, FA Cup winners medals and a full England cap. During his stay in the capital he established himself as one of The Gunner's all time greats. Became a licensee in his native Devon, but died aged 79, in an Exeter hospital after a short illness in 1991. (Holds The Gunners career goal scoring record with 178)
