Biography: Bestall's football career came to an end after the outbreak of the Second World War. After the War, he became a coach at Birmingham City and chief scout, before taking up a similiar scouting position with Doncaster Rovers. He then went on to manage Doncaster Rovers on two seperate occasions, as well as managing Nelson and Blackburn Rovers. In a tribute to his Grimsby Town career he now has a street named after him. He died of natural causes in April 1985.
