John Boyle

Position: Midfielder

Biography: Signed for the Blues while on holiday in London. Scored the winning goal in the first leg of the League Cup semi final against Aston Villa in 1965 on his debut. Picked up a winner's medal after helping the club to beat Leicester in the final. Just as it appeared he was set to take John Hollins' place, he suffered head injuries in a car accident. Boyle missed the 1970 FA Cup Final through injury but returned to the team for the Cup Winners' Cup final 12 months later. Was sold to Orient for a small fee. Later worked as a Security officer in Central London whilst living in Kent.
