Biography: Buckley has since managed Walsall, Kettering Town, West Bromwich Albion, Lincoln City and Rochdale. However he notably had three spells in charge of Grimsby Town between 1988 and 2008. He guided the club to three finals at Wembley, two of which ended in victory. The club were promoted twice under Buckley and were never relegated. Buckley has stayed in Grimsby since the early nineties, and often summarises Town matches on the local radio.

Buckley, Alan Probably the best player I have ever seen play for Walsall. He was brilliant. Everyone loved him and within a certain age group he is still talked about with great fondness.

Buckley, Alan An all-time Walsall great. Never thought you were going to lose when he was playing. They score a goal, Buck would get one back. Consummate professional, wonderful memories.
