Albert Buick

Albert Buick

Clubs played for: Arbroath, Hearts, Portsmouth, Scottish League XI , Scotland (1893-1902)

Born: 1875

Birthplace: Arbroath, Scotland

Position: Centre-half

Biography: 'Spider'(nicknamed because of his dangly arms) was only short but the ability he showed while playing for Hearts earned him a call-up to the full Scottish national side and a move to Pompey in 1903. Rather bizarrely, he was joined at Fratton Park by six of his former Hearts teammates! Died in March 1948 aged 73.
