Biography: A defender who had played non league football up to the age of 27 at which time he joined Peterborough United in 1994. He continued to play in the Football League until 2002. Thereafter he went to Singapore for three years as a player coach & manager for Woodlands Wellington. In 2005 he became player manager at Leyton but this only lasted a month. In 2007 he joined Lincoln Citys Centre of Excellence and then joined Peterborough United as a coach & chief scout. In 2008 he rejoined Lincoln City as a youth team coach & later became chief scout and first team coach. In 2009 he became caretaker manager for a short spell. He also worked as a personal trainer for Total Fitness. He had a spell under Darren Ferguson at Preston North End as a scout & match analyst. In May 2010 he became manager of Stamford & in October 2011 manager of Evo-Stik Premier League Worksop Town. After leaving Workshop he joined Notts county. In 2014 he joined Charlton in the championship. He started as U15’s manager was promoted to U18’s and win the national league in 2015. He then went on to U23’s manager and was later promoted to first team coach. Simon left Charlton in 2017 and joined Notts county as U18’s manager. He left Notts to try managing non league Kings Lynn as he’d played for them as a school boy. That didn’t work out he had a short spell at Northampton then secured his current post at Watford FC

Clark, Simon Hi Simon you don’t know me but I believe in a roundabout way we are related as my Dad is the brother of your I think Grandma Auntie Francis it came about as I know John Priestly and your name came up yesterday I know you are in to football in a big way and John said you are now in charge of the under 18s at Watford it is a small world as I have been scouting for the last 40 Years and now in the process in working for my ex chairman at Swansea Huw Jenkins John tells me you are living in North Hykeham as I am in Washingborough it would be nice to meet up and see what comes out of it as I remember Dad saying you was all in the Butchers trade around Mareham le fen and district i hope you don’t mind me bothering you.
