Conner, Dick Dick Conner was a great signing for Aldershot initaly as a player then when Jimmy Sirrell left for Brentford he became trainer-coach to boss Dave Smith and Tom McAnearney, he had a spell as caretaker manager in October 1968 but was allowed to leave when Jimmy Melia joined the club, Conner then joined Rochdale as coach and later manager, Dick passed away in Jarrow in 2009.
