Biography: A bustling forward, Terry Connor had already proved his goalscoring prowess before signing for Pompey from Brighton & Hove Albion in 1987. 51 goals in 156 games for the Seagulls meant that he came with a £200,000 price tag. He managed to add a further 18 goals to his tally over three years but never held down a regular first team place and moved onto Swansea City in 1990 for £150,000. Since retiring in 1994, Connor has established himself as an experienced and extremely capable coach, quite often as assistant to Mick McCarthy. The duo left Cardiff City in October 2021 after only 9 months and a run of eight consecutive defeats.
