Biography: Signed for United as youth team player in 1988 from non-league Brandon United. But was sold to Hartlepool for £20,000 a year later. Coached at Middlesbrough's academy and teaches at Darlington College.

Dalton, Paul He is the greatest player I have ever seen in an Argyle shirt. In the 93/94 season he scored about a dozen World glass goals. Great feet, amazing trickery, he would weave through defences and he could finish with aplomb, also provided countless assists from the wing. Tremendously talented. As I say the best and most exciting player I've seen in an Argyle shirt.
