Position: Wing-half

Biography: Was set to sign for Millwall when a Chelsea scout knocked on the door offering him £250 to move to Stamford Bridge instead. Over the next seven seasons he played understudy to Ken Armstrong, Stan Wicks and Derek Saunders. He played one game in the 1954-55 Championship winning season but was off-loaded along with Les Stubbs to Southend United for £12,000. Went into management with Bristol City and Fulham he then embarked on his travels, managing in five countries on three continents before retiring and moving back to Henleaze, Bristol.
