Biography: A central defender who was versatile and could play in other positions as well. He played in the Football League between 1972-86. He played for Stoke City between 1972-82 and returned for one season in 1985 making a total of 416 appearances for them. He won 6 England u23 caps in 1975. In 1986 he moved to Sweden where he played for another six years. Even when he was playing football in England he enjoyed renovating old properties and when his playing career finished he continued to do this and then rent them out. A keen runner he used to run marathons. He still lives in the Stoke on Trent area.
