Birthplace: Dublin, Ireland

Position: Goalkeeper

Biography: The first Irishman to play in goal for United after the Second World War when he was signed from Bohemians in November 1948. He spent 12 months in the reserves before taking Jack Crompton's place in the team but the £11,000 arrival of Reg Allen meant he was surplus to requirements and was sold to Northampton Town for £525 in 1950. Worked as a car salesman before arriving at Old Trafford. He died in March 1995, aged 68.
